London – Laurel County and the surrounding area has many options for those looking to spend some time in the outdoors, play with the kids, or shoot some hoops. Whether your looking for a dog park or an adventure in the treetops, we’ve got it all. Check out the variety of parks below and you’ll be sure to find a great place to start your adventure!

Levi Jackson

Levi Jackson Wilderness Road Park

 

Between 1775 and 1796, over 200,000 pioneers traveled to Kentucky over the famous Wilderness Road which runs through Levi Jackson Wilderness Road Park in London. Spanning over 900 acres, the park contains a campground, pool, multiple shelter houses, fairgrounds, Mountain Life Museum, McHargue’s Mill, putt-putt golf, playgrounds, and a clubhouse.

Mill Street Park

Mill Street Park

 

Mill Street Park is located on Mill Street and features a splash pad, two shelter houses, playground area, and a volleyball court. This park is located in downtown London just a couple of blocks off Main Street. This park is sure to provide hours of fun. Bring the kids on a sunny day for some fun on the splash pad or round up some friends and enjoy a game of volleyball on our sand court.

 

The shelter houses are first-come, first-serve and available free of charge.

Veterans Park

Whitley Branch Veterans Park

 

The lightly wooded 15-acre park includes a playground, pickleball courts, nearly 2.5 miles of paved walking path, shelter houses, a dog park, and restroom facilities. The shelter houses are available on a first-come, first-served basis and are free to use. The park also features 18 open holes for disc golf for anyone from beginners that are curious to learn more about the game to those who are advanced PDGA members. It also includes a tree that’s older than the United States!

 

Park officials have installed metal benches throughout the park to honor the different branches of the military.

Town Center

Town Center

 

Town Center Park is located in the heart of downtown London on Main Street on the property of the former Town Center Motel. The large covered stage area, surrounded by a lush green lawn and beautiful landscaping, is the ideal outdoor event space for seasonal events and concerts. The stage can be used by community organizations at no charge with an approved event plan.

 

The site features an adjacent parking lot and a restroom facility. This site is very popular during the Christmas season as it serves as the location for our interactive Christmas tree!

Treetop Adventure

Treetop Adventure

 

A treetop aerial attraction located at Levi Jackson Wilderness Road Park in London, Kentucky. The aerial adventure park features 60 elements of fun, including zip-lines, rope bridges, suspended tunnels and much more! The Treetop Adventure at Levi Jackson is operated by City of London Tourism.  Attraction Fee is $20.00 per person for 2.5 hours. Weather permitting.

Wellness Park

Wellness Park

 

Located behind the Laurel County Public Library and adjacent to Somerset Community College on the College Park Campus off KY-192, the Wellness Park was built on the site of a former coal tipple and features two historic coal silos adorn the property.

 

The park boasts a large parking area with two small picnic shelters and two large picnic shelters that are available free of charge on a first-come, first-served basis. Other amenities include an all-access playground, a skate park, a bicycle pump track, basketball courts, volleyball courts and 0.4 mi of walking trails. Recent additions to the park include a mountain bike trail and a splash pad.
