Honey Bun Day Is Saturday, October 18, 2025 in downtown London, Kentucky!

Join us on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Town Center Park 500 N. Main St London, KY 40741 as we celebrate London’s sweetest day of the year, Honey Bun Day!

London’s annual Honey Bun Day is celebrated each year for the thousands of jobs supported by the Honey Bun in London since 1953. The event is sponsored by Wellcare and Flowers Foods, and organized by London Tourism & Parks and London Downtown.
Honey Bun Day will be celebrated all over town at restaurants, shops, the London Community Center, and Town Center Park in downtown London. Special events include an Arts & Makers Market, live music, food trucks, a Taste the Buns Honey Bun Food Challenge, a Show & Shine Car Show, and will culminate with an attempt to set a record for the most people eating a honey bun simultaneously. In the days leading up to Honey Bun Day, local restaurants and eateries will feature special menu items made with honey buns, see the list below.
The highlight of the day will be an attempt to set a record for the most people eating a honey bun at the same time. Participants in the record attempt will vie for a $1,000 prize package to be drawn at random. Each participant will be given a numbered card and winning numbers will be chosen at random. Additionally, all folks who visit the Arts & Makers Market at the London Community Center will be given a bonus card, increasing their odds of winning!
The Honey Bun has been a staple at the Flowers Foods Bakery in London since 1953. The sweet smell of honey buns and other baked goods from Flowers often envelops downtown London, providing a sensory link to a story that dates back decades with the Griffin family.
Formerly known as the Griffin Pie Company, Flowers Foods has employed thousands of people over the years and currently employs more than 600 people at its bakery on East 4th Street. The facility produces nearly 3 million pounds of honey buns, donuts, donut sticks, and fried pies every week on nine production lines. The company reports that its three honey bun lines can produce almost 60,000 honey buns per hour, totaling about 10 million honey buns per week. Additionally, its four donut lines can churn out approximately 336,000 donuts per hour when running at full capacity.
