New Year, New Beginnings…London in 2022.

As we close out the year of 2021, we look back on all the great moments that we have shared together. London has continued to exponentially blossom into one of the best tourist destinations for southeastern Kentucky.  With the additions of new businesses, restaurants, and more through our towns, what awaits us after the clock strikes midnight and we ring in the New Year of 2022?

In January we will welcome fishers from all over to the Saddlebrook Bass Fishing Tournament, to come and set records at the majestic turquoise waters at Laurel Lake. Then later on in the month of March, country music lovers will be invited to our “Heritage Music Series” at the Heritage Hills Theatre where the audience will be able to enjoy the acoustic roots of country music with singers Cole Chaney and Lance Rogers.  London will continue to be the “cycling capitol of Kentucky” as we look forward to the annual Redbud Ride taking place this coming April. Cyclist from all over will be able to come to London and enjoy the beautiful scenery backgrounded with the rolling hills of the Bluegrass state. We then will welcome back our archers to London, where we will host Kentucky S3DA Regional competitions at the Laurel County Fairgrounds, that make for the perfect host of this tournament as you are surrounded by the true beauty of the Daniel Boone Forest. As we approach the summer, it is time for “TRU Ball/Black Eagle Pro/Am” archery event presented by the ASA. For those of which enjoy nature and testing their endurance, June will be the month for you. Get ready for the 4th annual “2022 War Hammer 100-Mile Endurance Run,” where runners will put their best foot forward in completing what is known as Kentucky’s hardest foot race. As we do know that their will be more events to come, we do know one event that will continue its legacy. That is London’s famous “World Chicken Festival,” taking place in the last week of September, where festival goers have a wide variety of what they want to do. With over 100,000 guest annually and 160 vendors the festival has something for everyone to look forward to, maybe that is watching live performances at the Town Center Park, or enjoying a piece of fried chicken from the “World’s Largest Skillet.”

With the new year not being here yet, we are already eager to welcome these great events to our home here in London. We welcome you and your family to come visit us in 2022 and join in on the fun!
