08 Apr Sheltowee Trace Association Needs to Hear from You
Sheltowee Trace Association mission is to protect, preserve, and promote the Sheltowee Trace National Recreation Trail as a significant national resource for the enjoyment of hikers, bikers, and equestrians, and for the value that wild and scenic lands provide to all people.
We need to keep track how the trace is getting used and how often. This is great info for the Board of Directors to see why users are coming to the Trace and to share with the Forest Service / Park Service. These numbers play a part in how the Sheltowee Trace Association gets funded. If we can’t prove the trail is getting used, we can’t get funding to maintain it. Fill out this form, tell us your plans!
Whether “thru-hiking, section hiking, or day-hiking, when your plans call for getting out on the Trace we’d like to know. By registering your intentions we are in a stronger position to let the land managers know how the Trace is being used. This data is crucial in our efforts to justify funding, organizing upgrades and improvements to the Trace. Thanks so much for taking a few moments to help us make the STNRT an amazing place to hike, backpack, ride.
